Our staff spotlight this month is on Pete Denyard who is employed as Accounts Manager MAAT at B&A Group and is also a full member of the Association of Accounting Technicians.

Pete has been with the B&A Group for almost 10 years and during this time, he has progressed from weighbridge assistant for Bristol & Avon Waste Management Ltd to the B&A Group’s accounts department manager, achieving his AAT qualifications and acquiring a vast range of skills and experience whilst in our employment.

Working closely with the finance and managing director as well as our team of accountants and department managers, Pete’s role is demanding and diverse. Pete is responsible for all members of the Finance team and works well with department managers; ensuring the efficient capture of key financial information to enable preparation and submission of weekly and monthly financial updates.

Clare Berkely, finance director of B&A Group, considers Pete a valuable member of the management team due to his excellent knowledge of the services and products that B&A Group offers its customers, as well as the importance of maintaining excellent supplier and sub contractor relationships.

With this in mind, Pete has helped customise accounting practices within the department to ensure that tasks are carried out quickly and efficiently, to the benefit of our business as well as our customers and suppliers. ‘Pete has a great understanding of the business. The experience he has gained whilst with B&A Group, especially throughout recent years of growth and expansion, is invaluable. Pete is a highly respected manager, he creates an excellent dynamic within the team and continues to add to the successful future of the B&A Group’.

Pete says: “Putting it in simple terms, my overall role is to ensure the cash flow is monitored on a day-to-day basis; to make sure the finance department is running smoothly; liaising with other departments up to Director level ensuring that information presented is correct and accurate, as well as provide assistance in the preparation of the company’s monthly management accounts.”

Explaining what he enjoys most about his role, Pete added: “Being able to work closely with the whole business and see different aspects of the industry, keeps things varied. Also, being able to pull all the months information together to see the end result is very rewarding.”

We would like to thank Pete for his continued efforts for the B&A team. Keep up the great work!
