For this month’s staff profile, we’re celebrating Cam Wakenshaw - one of our site managers.
Cam first joined Bristol & Avon Group in March 2023 and has been going above and beyond in his role ever since to ensure work was delivered on time and to a high standard. With over 16 years of experience and knowledge in the construction sector, Cam has been able to apply a lot of this to his new role whilst developing his career in the transport and land regeneration sector.
As part of his role responsibilities, Cam completes daily reports on progress to head office as well as completing team briefs and overseeing entire site operations to maximise productivity across staff involved as well as maintaining strict health & safety measures on site. This role is a crucial part of our delivery and Cam does a fantastic job of ensuring that work environments are happy and safe for our teams as well as working towards a strict timeframe and keeping the project within budget. Cam also speaks with clients and stakeholders frequently to achieve the highest possible standards on-site.
We asked Cam what he loved most about working at B&A Group, to which he said: “I like how warm and welcoming it is. All the directors have your best interests at heart along with getting the job done to a high standard so you never feel undervalued. Feeling like you’re working amongst a company of team players is a brilliant feeling.”
One of the things that Cam is most looking forward to, is developing his career even further here at B&A. He is always looking for opportunities to progress and take on more responsibility so that he is able to improve his knowledge and expertise within the industry and broaden his capabilities within the company.
Outside of work, Cam enjoys spending time with his two children and fiancé as well as exploring new places and indulging in some fine dining when he gets the opportunity. This year is going to be particularly exciting as Cam will be getting married to his wonderful fiancé in August and is looking forward to the wedding plans being finalised! Cam is also a dedicated supporter of The Mighty Whites, Leeds United football club and hopes to see them return to top flight at the end of the season.
We’re so grateful for all of the hard work and contribution that Cam has made to the company, it’s been an absolute pleasure seeing him flourish and become a core part of the team. We look forward to all of the incredible projects and developments that Cam will be a part of in the future!
