It’s Employee Appreciation Day today (Friday 4th March) and at B&A Group we believe in showing our team how integral they are to all that we do. Today, we’ll be showcasing just a few of our amazing employees.
Tipper Driver Kevin has worked for B&A Group for the past 5 years. His role involves delivering a wide variety of materials to our sites and clients in and around Bristol, helping maintain the excellent standards and customer service our clients expect when working with us. When asked what he enjoys about working at B&A Group, Kevin said:
“I enjoy working for a family business and there is a good/cohesive friendly team of drivers and management. Each day at B&A is totally different, no day is the same. I get to meet a wide variety of people on the various sites we deliver to. No day is boring.”
Mandy joined us in February 2017 as a part time Waste Transfer Note Team Administrator. Her main duties are to sort and enter details of tickets that have been produced by the drivers to show their daily movements. This information gets stored on a large database. Mandy processes these tickets on a same-day basis once the drivers have finished for the day so that the information held is as up to date as possible. There is a large amount of attention to detail and accuracy involved as registrations can be very similar and things can change from day to day. Mandy said:
“I thoroughly enjoy my job and the variation in the work keeps my position interesting.”
A familiar face, Ashley has worked for B&A Group since 2015 and now forms a key part of our senior leadership, helping drive the business forward with his sales expertise. Drawing on ten years’ experience in the sector, he helps run the Transport & Aggregates division and ensures that customers are satisfied. He has been instrumental in the launch and development of B&A Stone Supplies, working alongside Division Manager Stuart Palmer. And, together with our Commercial Manager Ben Higham, Ashley looks after hundreds of our valued customers. Ashley said:
“I love my job. You have to be so switched on and it keeps me on my toes! Being part of the development of many projects in the South West is very rewarding…B&A Group is a great place to work. It is hard work but rewarding, a family-run business where everyone looks after everyone – you can’t ask for more than that.”
Mark started working for B&A Group in June 2019 as HGV Technician & Workshop Supervisor. He’s responsible for the maintenance, servicing & repairs of every vehicle within the group. As well as this, he is responsible for ordering all workshop stock & all the various parts required to maintain the vehicles across the group. Mark also deals with repairs, servicing & maintenance of all the plant machinery here at B&A. When asked what Mark enjoys most about working at B&A Group, he said:
“Because B&A is a family run business there is a great atmosphere throughout the company. Everyone is very friendly and there is a fabulous relaxed working environment.”
