Originally founded as a haulage company by the late Jimmy Berkely in the 1960s, the B&A (Bristol & Avon) Group is now recognised as key to the regeneration of Bristol and the surrounding area. Our Services now comprise three integrated divisions across contracting, transport & recycling and stone supplies expertise.
Acquired by Heidelberg Materials in 2024, we are located throughout the south west and south Wales, forging an even bigger and brighter future.

Transport & Recycling
B&A Transport & Recycling offers a complete solution for intelligent materials management, recycled aggregates and haulage. We operate a range of permitted sites, certified to accept common construction wastes including inert and non-hazardous soils.
We can provide both waste disposal and waste recycling options for problematic waste types including, asbestos impacted soils, contaminated soils and industrial waste. Our disposal sites and recycled aggregates offer a sustainable alternative to traditional land filling.
Stone Supplies
B&A Stone Supplies has, over the last 30 years, built long standing relationships with over thirty quarries in the south west. We offer a vast range of aggregate products, service options - including same day delivery - and a complete haulage solution.
Our History
From humble beginnings, discover how the business has evolved from a single tipper lorry in the 1960s to a team of 70, operating a substantial fleet of over 50 vehicles and with access to over 100 approved subcontractors.
