Operating as a Principal Contractor and TCM (Technically Competent Manager) we are able to efficiently and effectively import suitable material, level and compact to the construction design standard and in accordance with BS 6031:2009 Code of Practice for Earthworks.

B&A Contracting is able to access outstanding waste management services through its transport & recycling sister division. This encompasses waste categorisation, material recovery and reuse – all in accordance with the waste hierarchy.

In support of this, we operate recovery facilities enabling all compliance obligations to be met and assist with achieving sustainability targets, including: a wash plant, soil screening, and hazardous waste management.
 

B&A Contracting can provide everything you need to construct q pile mat either to your design or to ours – to BS 5975:2019 and BRE Guide 470. We will undertake in-situ geotechnical testing to establish the nature of the ground and the required mat thickness then provide aggregates, sourced either from site processed materials or from our own in-house stocks of virgin or recycled materials.

Our testing and pile mat design will incorporate:

• Quality of existing ground / formation
• Static and dynamic loading the pile mat must withstand
• Nature of compaction and drainage characteristics of fill material to be used
• Materials savings that can be made via the use of geogrids in the pile mat

B&A Contracting is ideally qualified to help you design and install this well-proven, sustainable method for reducing noise pollution. Our team can design the solution, apply for planning and install the appropriate materials – naturally occurring soils wherever possible – to also improve the landscape of your project.

Our in-house experts will liaise specialists including planning consultants, landscape architects, sustainability consultants, acoustics specialists and ecologists, as required. We are also able to reuse materials from other sources under CL:AIRE DoW CoP.
