B&A Group at the Longleat Sky Safari 2019
After a stellar debut, the B&A Group hot air balloon will be taking to the skies once again in time for the fourth annual Longleat Sky Safari. Taking place from Thursday 12th to Sunday 15th September, the four day balloon extravaganza will be a spectacular event that is not to be missed.
The Longleat Sky Safari is Europe’s largest annual hot air balloon festival. Featuring balloons from all over the world, including the USA and Japan. More than 200 balloons are expected to be on display, including a delightful array of animal shaped balloons. Look out for Adelaide the koala, Simbaloo the lion, Duma the cheetah, Roger the panther, Wes the wolf and many more. And of course the brand new B&A Group Meningitis Now balloon.
The balloon took its very first flight last month at the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta and caused quite a stir. We were honoured to have Steve and Gloria Dayman, founders of Meningitis Now and long-time friends of the Berkely family with us on the day to see the balloon’s launch. You can read more about the balloon’s debut here.
The Sky Safari is weather dependent, so we are keeping our fingers crossed for an Indian summer, allowing for a wonderful show that will see the B&A Group balloon flying high over the Wiltshire countryside.
According to Longleat Safari Park, the schedule for each day is as follows:
7am – 8am: Morning mass balloon launch
10am – 11:30am: Morning tethered balloon display
11:30am – 12:30pm: Model ballooning display
2:30pm – 4pm: Afternoon balloon tethering display
5.15pm – 6:30pm: Evening mass balloon launch
7:45pm (Thursday, Friday and Saturday only): Night glow
Weather permitting, we will be taking part in the morning and evening launches, as well as the Thursday night glow at 7.45pm and the morning tethered balloon display at on Saturday 14th at 11am.
