We are delighted to announce that Helen Griffin has been appointed as Group Environmental Director for B&A Group. Helen has been with us for 14 years and during this time she has had significant involvement in notable landmarks in the company’s history paving the way for our success today.

Helen played an important role in the growth of our Waste Management division and proved invaluable in achieving the licences and necessary permits to help expand the business prior to it being acquired by Smiths of Gloucester.

Helen also broke new ground with her involvement in the development of the Severn Road site, project managing the build of our offices, workshop and recycling facility. This was a huge undertaking that repositioned B&A Group as a major player in our industry in the Southwest region. In addition to this, Helen placed B&A as a key provider of our services in the Severnside area, delivering strategic and beneficial land raising projects, a core business requirement, further enhancing our reputation as a leader in our field.

As well as maintaining our environmental compliance and safety credentials, Helen ensured we achieved our ISO accreditation and many others to optimise the opportunity for B&A Group to win new business.

As a respected and influential voice, Helen is often called upon by the Environment Agency and organisations involved in sustainable land use, in shaping policy and developing new frameworks to benefit our industry.

More recently, Helen played a vital role in helping us navigate the challenges posed by the global pandemic, ensuring the safety of everyone working at B&A Group as well as our customers and suppliers.

In an industry that is so heavily regulated and dynamic, Helen continues to focus on her professional development. Being recognised by the Chartered Institute of Waste Managers and successfully becoming a Chartered Waste Manager showcases Helen’s aptitude for identifying areas for improvement within environmental and health & safety practices. This is by no means an easy accomplishment and is testament to Helen’s wealth of knowledge and experience gained over almost 20 years in the industry.

In the new directorship role, Helen will work closely with Rob Lewis, securing new projects, as well as continuing to maintain our environmental and Health & Safety compliance to an exemplary standard. Helen will also work alongside the directors in implementing and managing aspects of the company’s growth strategy.

Helen’s promotion to Director has been in recognition of the integral part she plays within the business. Helen’s professionalism, contribution and commitment to B&A Group will prove invaluable as the company implements its vision for future growth. Helen is a natural leader and well respected within her field, we feel incredibly privileged to have her as part of the B&A team. Please join us in congratulating her in her new position within the company. We have no doubt this appointment will strengthen the company’s leadership and continue to drive the business forward.
