At Bristol and Avon Group we draw from a wealth of experience across various complex sites. This gives us a solid foundation on which to conduct commissioned site investigations and sampling for environmental and commercial purposes.
To successfully convert brownfield sites, our experienced and accredited staff are trained in a variety of techniques, and use contamination quantification and geotechnical procedures to ensure the safe future development of your site.
As well as basic intrusive site investigations, our team can conduct Phase One Desk Studies. As contaminated land specialists and engineering geologists we can design a site investigation tailored to specific requirements. We also perform Phase Two Intrusive Investigations, sample and test and investigate soils and wastes, and provide management plans for disposal according to recognised guidelines. This includes the chemical analysis of soils by experts, using UKAS approved laboratories, and physical performance testing of aggregates and fills. Throughout this process, our team of experienced staff will provide you with thorough, reliable analysis and site investigation reports for your site.
We use a range of methods to complete our tests, including trial pitting, hand pitting, drilling works and CPT testing. When working on contaminated sites, our investigation focuses on environmental, safety and commercial aspects.
With each project, we provide full waste classification of all soils on-site and give guidance on appropriate disposal locations. We can also complete hand trial pitting investigation of everything from small sites for discharge of planning conditions, to full scale ground investigation (GI) for more complex projects.
Our classification of waste is provided according to the latest guidance, including recent revisions of WM2 and the category 4 screening levels. Our report will provide a full breakdown of waste types, making it easier for you to pinpoint your areas of concern.
Recovery and Disposal Options
We have a full spectrum of permitted disposal and recovery sites for every waste type, alongside leading treatment technology to ensure disposal is executed in line with latest guidance. With a firm focus on environmental legislation and client budget we create competitive cost effective solutions.
We provide regulatory approvals for all facility types, including planning, permitting and EIA (Environmental Impact Assessments). We consider the logistics and routing of your waste, and for all but the most contaminated soils we offer 100% diversion from landfill.
